ILLAWARRA SOUTH EAST 'POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR FOR SUCCESS' FRAMEWORK

ISER "Positive Behaviour for Success" (PBS) is an Illawarra and South East initiative to assist schools in building school wide systems and improving teacher capacity to promote positive values, positive behaviours and academic success. A desired outcome is to create school environments which maximise learning engagement and promote student achievement. PBS currently involves 115 Illawarra and South East schools (50%).
PBS is an internationally recognised range of systemic and individualised strategies for achieving important social and learning outcomes while preventing problem behaviour.
PBS is not a pre-packaged curriculum. It is a framework which is adapted to local school and community needs and allows each individual school to design a PBS framework to meet their unique needs. PBS systems and strategies successfully adapt to pre-school, primary and secondary school settings. PBS maximises a schools’ ability to create a positive and safe school climate.
